Recap: Bayard Tigers vs. Kimball Longhorns
The Bayard Tigers couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a serious blow against Kimball on Thursday, falling 81-24. Bayard was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-22.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bayard struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Kimball pulled down 20.
Kimball was led to victory by Kyler Lusche and Braxton Miller. Lusche dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Miller scored 16 points along with 7 steals. Brandon Paxton was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Bayard's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Kimball, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Bayard will be playing in front of their home fans against Chadron at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kimball, they will head out on the road to face off against Leyton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
