Basketball Recap: Mount Academy Comes Up Short

Mount Academy lost against Ellenville back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Mount Academy Eagles took a hard 63-49 fall against the Ellenville Blue Devils.

When it comes to explaining why Mount Academy lost, don't look at Jake Maendel. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-20 on his way to 20 points. Maendel's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Dennis Hofer, who posted ten points and eight rebounds.

Mount Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-3. As for Ellenville, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

Coming up, Mount Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Chapel Field Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
