Baseball Recap: Ensworth Comes Up Short

Ensworth fell victim to Christ Presbyterian Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Tigers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Daniel Ulm was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (one).

On the hitting side, Ensworth saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Hullett, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Ensworth's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Christ Presbyterian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-2-1.

While Ensworth had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
