Basketball Recap: Santana Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Santana entered their matchup against Mar Vista on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Sultans took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mariners. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sultans of the 72-50 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

Jahaziel 'Jah' Catano was nothing short of spectacular for Mar Vista: he dropped a double-double with 32 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Holden Bell, who shot 45% from the field en route to 13 points along with seven boards and four blocks.

Santana's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Santana will face off against High Tech Mesa at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mar Vista, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Morse at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mariners' defense better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 69 points per game this season.
