Hastings and Blind Brook are an even 3-3 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Yellow Jackets will challenge the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Blind Brook took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hastings, who comes in off a win.
Hastings took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Tuckahoe, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Yellow Jackets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tigers on Monday, sneaking past 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Yellow Jackets have posted since April 4th.

Hastings let Matt Corbo and Kieran McGrath run wild. Corbo went 2-for-4 with one home run, while McGrath went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Hastings is undefeated when McGrath posts one or more home runs, but 3-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Sbrega, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Hastings always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Blind Brook had taken Westlake down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. The Trojans came up short against the Wildcats, falling 18-2. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Blind Brook saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Pastor, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Hastings is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Blind Brook, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hastings has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Blind Brook struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hastings came out on top in a nail-biter against Blind Brook in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellow Jackets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
