Thompson Valley took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They walked away with a 17-7 win over the Berthoud Spartans. The Eagles are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 15 straight dating back to last season.

Thompson Valley was led to victory by Tristin Hill and Finley Lucas. Hill rushed for 73 yards and two scores, while Lucas threw for 200 yards on only 17 passes. Those 200 passing yards gave Lucas a new career-high.

Thompson Valley didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Berthoud to a completion percentage of just 48%. The Eagles hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.33 or higher in seven consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Thompson Valley will head out on the road to face off against Greeley Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Berthoud, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Moffat County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
