Basketball Recap: IMG Academy Gold Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the IMG Academy Gold Ascenders ended up a good deal behind the Gibbs Gladiators and lost 64-50. While losing is never fun, the Ascenders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Gladiators are ranked ninth).

Gibbs was led to victory by Oneal Delancy and Jacob Daniels. Delancy went 9 of 15 on his way to 19 points, while Daniels posted ten points along with eight assists and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Medina, who scored seven points and seven rebounds.

IMG Academy Gold has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Gibbs, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.

IMG Academy Gold didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 61-53 victory against Charlotte on the 14th. Gibbs has also already played their next contest, a 95-58 win against Northeast on the 14th.
