Recap: Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs vs. Countryside Christian Minutemen
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 72-43 win over the Minutemen at home. Meadowbrook Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 22 points or more this season.
Meadowbrook Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tico Smith out in front who scored 31 points along with two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least a third of Meadowbrook Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Gaige Daugherty, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meadowbrook Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Countryside Christian, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.
Meadowbrook Academy will head out on the road to face off against Oak Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Oak Hall is coming into the match with five straight wins at home, meaning Meadowbrook Academy will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. Countryside Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
