Softball Recap: Mt. Blue Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Mt. Blue and Lewiston meet (six straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Cougars took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 10-6 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mt. Blue's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Lewiston, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Mt. Blue will challenge rival Oxford Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cougars 3.5, the Vikings 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lewiston is set to square off against their familiar foe Camden Hills at 5:00 p.m. on May 6.
