Soccer Game Preview: Eagle Pass vs. Del Rio

Eagle Pass hasn't had much luck against Del Rio recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Eagle Pass Eagles will welcome the Del Rio Rams at 7:00 p.m.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Eagle Pass and United South, and United South kept the tradition alive. Eagle Pass fell just short of United South by a score of 4-3 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Del Rio had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 61st, while the Panthers are ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Del Rio's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those six matches. As for Eagle Pass, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7-1.
