Basketball Recap: Liberty's Win Ends 13-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Liberty waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Kettle Run Cougars by a score of 51-42. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 39-19 victory the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Liberty's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mckenzie Bell led the charge by putting up 19 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Naleiah Tibbs, who posted 14 points and four steals.

Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive contests.

Liberty's win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7. As for Kettle Run, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Liberty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 49-35 defeat against Warren County on the 27th. Kettle Run has also already played their next matchup, a 53-20 loss against James Wood on the 25th.
