Suburban Christian - Blue recap October 22, 2013

Montini added to the longest winning streak in Suburban Christian - Blue this week by beating Aurora Christian, 49-0. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.

St. Francis took down Guerin College Preparatory 56-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Marian Central Catholic's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Billy Bahl threw for 246 and 4 touchdowns and Brett Olson had 108 yards receiving. On the ground Ephraim Lee chipped in 154 yards. Tom Klinger helped Marian Central Catholic's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 77 yards.

He was 14-27 with 1 interception.

Bahl put up the best numbers through the air as the Hurricanes beat St. Edward. Bahl's favorite target this week was Olson, who caught 6 passes for 108 yards.

Marian Central Catholic's Bahl and Olson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Bahl has thrown for 2,171 yards this season, while Olson has 45 catches for 928 yards. The Green Wave's Davontae Elam leads the league in rushing yards with 1,224.

Ed Brucker's team's Olson is only 72 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the Wheaton Academy. He has recorded 45 catches for 928 yards this year.

The Spartans are currently in sixth, while St. Edward is in fourth.

The Hurricanes made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 798 from 962. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 49-21 victory over Mike Rolando's team last week.
