Baseball Recap: McCutcheon Takes a Loss

McCutcheon started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Danville. They lost 13-6 to the Warriors on Friday.

Jon Riley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Mekyel Almond, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

McCutcheon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Danville, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-9.

Looking ahead, McCutcheon will head out to face off against Western at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Mavericks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Danville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Southmont at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mounties will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
