            Softball Recap: Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons vs. Highland Tech Rams        
        
		
        
        
            Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy had lost eight straight on the road, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-12 to make it nine. They came up short against  the Highland Tech Rams, falling  17-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  20-0  on Tuesday.
As for Highland Tech, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won ten of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record  this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by ten  runs or more this season.
For Highland Tech's part,  Makaylee Gantt made a big impact no matter where she played. She  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). Gantt has been consistent for a while: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with four  RBI, two  doubles,  and one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Meredith Bolick was  incredible,  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances with one  home run, three  stolen bases,  and three  runs. Another player making a difference was  Marin Wise, who  went 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  triple.
 Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highland Tech, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Forestview at 5:00  p.m.  on May 1.
