League recap: Hooser overpowering for Platte Canyon in past week

3A Frontier league recap: 4/3/13

Indiana Hooser was the top pitcher in 3A Frontier this week, leading Platte Canyon. Over the past week, he racked up one win and 13 strikeouts.

Top honors in the league this week go to the Huskies, which finished with three wins overall, good for best in the league. Platte Canyon beat Lyons 11-1, KIPP Denver Collegiate 17-2 and KIPP Denver Collegiate 11-0.

Although Sheridan surrendered only three walks this week, the lowest number in the league over that span, the Huskies are still tops for the season with just 11 walks over 30 innings this year.

There were 11 hitters that batted over .400 in the league this week. The group was paced by Dalton Dziedzic, who collected four hits in four at bats for a 1.000 average.

Platte Canyon's Hunter Bode finished his week with eight hits, tops in the league. On the season, he's hitting .667 and ranks first in the league with 12 hits.



Bode drove in four runners as the Huskies defeated KIPP Denver Collegiate 17-2 on Saturday. He went 5-for-5 and scored one run.

Platte Canyon's Hooser struck out 13 the Lions hitters en route to an 11-1 victory on March 28. Over his six innings pitched he allowed one run on three hits.
