Softball Preview: Quitman Wolverines vs. West Ouachita Chiefs

The Quitman Wolverines will head out on the road to square off against the West Ouachita Chiefs at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Quitman's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so West Ouachita's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Quitman easily dispatched Cedar Creek on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Wolverines fell just short of Oak Grove by a score of 7-5 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolverines have suffered since March 5, 2024.

Hallie Kate Pullig made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three doubles and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Kinsley Ponder was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.
