Basketball Recap: Calvary Baptist Academy Comes Up Short

Calvary Baptist Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a 47-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Breckenridge Huskies. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Kings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 46-40 back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Calvary Baptist Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gauge Roy went 7 for 14 on his way to 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roy has scored all season. Braydon Schwartzkopf was another key player, putting up seven points.

Calvary Baptist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Breckenridge, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Calvary Baptist Academy is facing Beaverton at the right time seeing as Beaverton is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Breckenridge, they will face off against Vestaburg at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th.
