Basketball Recap: Cape Henry Collegiate Comes Up Short

Cape Henry Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 95-13 loss at the hands of the Norfolk Christian Ambassadors. The Dolphins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 60-7.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Norfolk Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tamia Dyson, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. Dyson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Keira Kilkenny, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 15 points along with eight boards and six steals.

Cape Henry Collegiate now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Norfolk Christian, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2.

Cape Henry Collegiate and Norfolk Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Cape Henry Collegiate will face off against Peninsula Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 183 places (180 vs. 363). Meanwhile, Norfolk Christian (ranked fourth) will meet Hampton Roads Academy (ranked 36th) at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
