Softball Game Preview: Charter School for Applied Tech Eagles vs. Webber Tigers

The Charter School for Applied Tech Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Webber Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Charter School for Applied Tech lost 16-4 to Kennedy on Friday.

Meanwhile, Webber had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Wednesday. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the Eagles. 12 seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Arnie Sturtevant was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Webber let Brooke Robinson and Alexa Robinson run wild. Brooke got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, while Alexa went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Natalie Rath also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Charter School for Applied Tech's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Webber, their record is now 10-1.
