Taj Huggins ran for two touchdowns and
Charles Simons added three as well as
Palisades Park/Leonia (Palisades Park, N.J.) defeated
Cranford (N.J.) 35-21 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Simons in the second quarter, the Tigers led 28-7 at the half.
Palisades Park/Leonia expanded its lead to 22 points entering the fourth quarter. PPL's lone score in the quarter came on a Huggins touchdown run.
With the win the Palisades Park school extended its winning streak to seven games. The Tigers defeated the Indians 21-14 last week.
Reggie Green made a difference for the Cougars. The senior quarterback ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 19 touchdowns on the season.
Cranford came in giving up 16.6 points per game this season. CHS struggled against Palisades Park/Leonia's offense, which entered the game scoring 21.4 points per game.
The loss comes after Cranford defeated South Plainfield 37-12 last week. The loss snapped the Cougars' 2-game winning streak.
