Basketball Recap: Fremont Comes Up Short

Fremont suffered their biggest defeat since February 24, 2024 on Friday. They were dealt an 80-48 loss at the hands of the Bellevue West Thunderbirds. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, Fremont still got an impressive performance from Maurice Bryant, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. That was a full 35.4% of Fremont's points, marking the third time in a row Bryant has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Levi Toben, who scored nine points.

Robert Garcia continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bellevue West, shooting 4-for-7 from deep and dropping a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. Garcia's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Kobe Meyer also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Fremont's loss dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Bellevue West, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

Fremont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bellevue West, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 80-47 victory against Benson on the 22nd.
