Softball Recap: Annapolis Comes Up Short

Annapolis extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 2-9. They came up short against the North County Knights, falling 17-0. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Knights when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Annapolis saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Champlin, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

As for North County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-6. That looming 17-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

On North County's side, Hailey Stitt made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave Stitt a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, North County got a massive performance out of Reese Butler, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Alexis Garrison was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Annapolis is set to square off against their familiar foe Northeast at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, North County will face off against rival Glen Burnie at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
