Emerald Ridge had to settle for second on Friday, but Alanna Wirtala sure wasn't going down easily. Wirtala was dialed in as she struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). She was dominant the last time she took on Sumner back in May of 2024, so they probably should've seen this coming. Wirtala has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
