Football Game Recap: Hackettstown vs. Vernon

After a disappointing 7 points in the match before, Hackettstown made sure to put some points up on the board against Vernon on Friday. Hackettstown took their game against Vernon by a conclusive 41-13 score. The high-flying offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Hackettstown's flat performance the contest before.

Hackettstown's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 27 points in the first half. Vernon came up with 7 to make it 27-7 heading into the break. The Hackettstown defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 6 and all but finishing the matchup. The win got Hackettstown back to even at 2-2. Vernon are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-4.

Next week Hackettstown take on Parsippany Hills at 1:00 PM. After both teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one of them is set up to suffer a discouraging change of fortune. Vernon will look to defend their home turf against High Point at 7:00 PM. Given that they both suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this weekend.
