Baseball Recap: Beaufort Academy Comes Up Short

Beaufort Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 8-3 to the Patrick Henry Academy Patriots. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly five runs.

Tucker Scoggins put in work no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Beaufort Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Patrick Henry Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Coming up, Beaufort Academy will challenge Battery Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Patrick Henry Academy, they will face off against Hilton Head Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
