Baseball Recap: Shiprock Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Shiprock's offense. They came up short against the Bloomfield Bobcats on Thursday, falling 10-0. The Chieftains have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Shiprock now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Bloomfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shiprock will challenge Aztec at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bloomfield, they will face off against Gallup at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bengals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.31 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
