Volleyball Recap: Chavez Comes Up Short

Chavez's tournament run continued when they took on Mendez on Saturday. The Eagles took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars.

Mendez was led to victory by Luna Rubio and Fatima Estrada. Rubio had 22 digs, while Estrada had nine digs and one block. That's the most digs Estrada has posted over her last eight contests.

Chavez's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Mendez, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Chavez didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 1-0 win against CHAMPS on the 27th. As for Mendez, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 1-0 victory against Port of Los Angeles on the 27th.
