Football Recap: New Prairie Comes Up Short on the Road Against La Porte

New Prairie had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a hard 32-14 fall against the La Porte Slicers on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Slicers are ranked 152nd).

Loss or not, New Prairie got some senior leadership from Reed Robinson and Sully Kress. Robinson rushed for 113 yards, while Kress picked up 145 receiving yards and one score. Kress really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 79 yards.

Looking ahead, New Prairie will welcome NorthWood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for La Porte, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Lowell at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
