Basketball Game Preview: Roger Bacon Spartans vs. Summit Country Day Silver Knights

Roger Bacon is 1-7 against Summit Country Day since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Roger Bacon Spartans will venture away from home to square off against the Summit Country Day Silver Knights at 2:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Thursday, Roger Bacon took their contest with ease, bagging a 52-22 win over Northwest. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Spartans had established a 25 point advantage.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summit Country Day). They claimed a resounding 68-34 victory over Norwood. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Silver Knights considering their 25-point performance the match before.

Summit Country Day's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-6. As for Roger Bacon, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season.

Roger Bacon came out on top in a nail-biter against Summit Country Day in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, sneaking past 40-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Roger Bacon since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
