Basketball Recap: Edmeston Central Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Edmeston Central entered their contest against Marathon on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Edmeston Central Panthers fell 64-55 to the Marathon Olympians. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Olympians earlier this season, when they won 52-39.

Edmeston Central's loss came despite strong showings from Landon Wust and Gavin Zinger. Wust posted 18 points, while Zinger had 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Zinger, who earned eight points.

Edmeston Central's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-2. As for Marathon, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

When Edmeston Central and Marathon next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Edmeston Central will try to stop Morris Central's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edmeston Central will stroll in with a seven game home winning streak (dating back to last season), but they should still watch out: the last time they lost at home was their February 12 matchup with Marathon. Meanwhile, Marathon will take on Union Springs and their three-game winning streak at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
