Softball Recap: Huntington North Takes a Loss

Huntington North was the 9-3 winner over Woodlan when they last played one another back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings came up short against the Warriors on Thursday, falling 12-2. The defeat leaves the Vikings still looking for their first win of the season.

Huntington North saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aubrie Linker, who went 1-for-2 with one run. That run marked the first that Linker has scored this season.

Huntington North's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Woodlan, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Looking ahead, Huntington North will be playing at home against South Bend Riley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 12.8 runs per game this season. As for Woodlan, they will head out on the road to take on Prairie Heights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
