Basketball Recap: Huntingdon Skates Past Stewart County with Ease

Huntingdon won the last time they faced Stewart County and things went their way on Friday too. The Huntingdon Mustangs blew past the Stewart County Rebels, posting a 75-40 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

Huntingdon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kenton Smith, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 20 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Smith's big performance that evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was EJ Lewis, who went 7-for-10 en route to 21 points and three steals.

Stewart County's loss came despite strong showings from Zachary Morgan and Jacob Morgan. Zachary posted 12 points, while Jacob shot 46% from the field on his way to 12 points. What's more, Zachary also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in January of 2024.

Huntingdon's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.3 points over those games. As for Stewart County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-26.

Huntingdon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-51 win against Camden Central on the 22nd. As for Stewart County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 84-58 loss against Waverly Central on the 24th.
