Baseball Recap: Athens Falls Short of Circleville in the Playoffs

Athens and Circleville squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Athens had to settle for second. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 13-3. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Athens' defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Circleville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Athens does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Circleville, they will take on Jackson at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.7, the Ironman/Ironladies 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
