Football Recap: Thursday's Loss Ends Springville's Winning Streak

Springville and Orem squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Springville had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Tigers, falling 42-7. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Red Devils, who until this contest were averaging 14.14 points allowed.

Springville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tuiono Valeti and Brayden Smith. Valeti is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made eight or more in each of the last 21 games he's played dating back to last season.

With the defeat, Springville broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-2. As for Orem, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

As of now, neither Springville nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
