Football Game Preview: Gateway Charter Academy Gators vs. Scurry-Rosser Wildcats

Gateway Charter Academy is 0-5 against Scurry-Rosser since October of 2018 but things could change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m.

Gateway Charter Academy's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Trinity Leadership last Friday. They were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 44-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Scurry-Rosser). They simply couldn't be stopped last Friday as they easily beat Rice 62-7. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Scurry-Rosser didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Corbin Hoard and McCrae Manos. Hoard got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Scurry-Rosser's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Gateway Charter Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Gateway Charter Academy was dealt a bruising 56-0 defeat at the hands of Scurry-Rosser in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Gators, Ralph Miller (who rushed for 91 yards and three TDs on only five carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
