Softball Recap: Mohawk Warriors vs. Lincolnview Lancers
After flying high against Van Buren on Tuesday, Mohawk came back down to earth. The Warriors fell just short of the Lincolnview Lancers by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 5-4 to the Lancers when the teams met back in May of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Emily Brickner was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That home run was her first of the season. Mallory Brickner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Mohawk's loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 13-2. As for Lincolnview, their record is now 15-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mohawk will take on Ontario at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
