Basketball Recap: Ashbrook Picks Up Second Consecutive Win

Ashbrook won the last time they faced Crest, and Jakyra Sadler did her part to make sure it happened again. The Ashbrook Greenwave came out on top in a nail-biter against the Crest Chargers on Tuesday, sneaking past 47-44 thanks in part to Sadler, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten steals. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of AriAnnA Mcdowell, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 37 times she's played.

Despite the loss, Crest still got an impressive performance from De'Kaylia Davis, who posted 13 points. Zaira Faulkner was another key player, putting up seven points.

The victory made it two in a row for Ashbrook and bumps their season record up to 8-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points over those games. As for Crest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-10.
