Softball Recap: Mt. Carmel's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

Mt. Carmel and St. Thomas More squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mt. Carmel had to settle for second. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. The Cubs were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three games prior), but the Cougars' pitchers proved too tough.

Mt. Carmel moved to 17-13 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for St. Thomas More, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-8 record this season.

While Mt. Carmel had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
