Softball Recap: Paris Comes Up Short

Paris dropped their record down to 14-9 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Montgomery County Indians, falling 16-1. The Greyhounds were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Indians' pitcher proved too tough.

As for Montgomery County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by seven runs or more this season.

For Montgomery County's part, they got a massive performance out of Madison Cox, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Sara Zink also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Looking ahead, Paris will head out to take on Bourbon County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Montgomery County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Franklin County at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flyers have averaged an impressive 10 runs per game this season.
