Baseball Recap: Valor Christian Takes a Loss

Valor Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Calvary Day Cavaliers.

Valor Christian got a good showing from Sennon Lawrence, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Lawrence a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Valor Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Travis Kenz, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that Kenz snagged this season. Trystan Chadwick was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Valor Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Calvary Day, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Valor Christian will look to defend their home field on March 27th against Legend at 4:30 p.m. As for Calvary Day, they will head out on the road to take on Metter at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
