American Fork is 8-2 against Lone Peak since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cavemen will face off against the Knights at 3:30 p.m. American Fork is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.

American Fork is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Riverton just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Silverwolves by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cavemen have suffered since May 21, 2024.

American Fork got a good showing from Tege Kelley, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Kelley has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cooper Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Harry Gardner also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Lone Peak posted their closest win since March 21st on Thursday. They skirted past Camas 9-7. While the Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Lone Peak moved to 6-4 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for American Fork, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 8-2.

American Fork was able to grind out a solid win over Lone Peak when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cavemen since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
