Basketball Recap: Madison Patriots vs. Owen Warhorses

Even though the Owen Warhorses scored an imposing 63 points on Wednesday, the Madison Patriots still came out on top. Madison had just enough and edged the Warhorses out 65-63. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Madison.

Jason Eighmey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Gault, who scored 15 points along with two steals.

Despite the loss, Owen had strong showings from Jack Wesley Burk, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds, and Asante Martin, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Lewkowicz, who scored nine points along with five assists and two steals.

Madison's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10. As for Owen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison will square off against the Wildcats at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Draughn is ranked 512th, while the Patriots are ranked 489th). As for Owen, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Rosman has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11.
