Football Recap: Malibu Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Orcutt Academy, Malibu was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the United Christian Academy Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 26-12.

Tanner Kies had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 240 yards and two scores while picking up 10.0 yards per carry, and also picked up 44 receiving yards. Those 240 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Xavier Godbille, who gained 98 total yards and two touchdowns.

Malibu's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for United Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Malibu will host East Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for United Christian Academy, they will square off against Academy of Careers & Exploration at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
