Baseball Recap: Hidalgo Has No Trouble Against Raymondville

Hidalgo won the last time they faced Raymondville and things went their way on Monday too. The Hidalgo Pirates put the hurt on the Raymondville Bearkats with a sharp 13-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Jesus Garcia was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Santiago Hernandez and Jose Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Hernandez scored two runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Gonzalez scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave Hernandez a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Hidalgo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Raymondville only posted an OBP of .393.
