Volleyball Recap: Jacobs Golden Eagles vs. McHenry Warriors
Jacobs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell just short of the McHenry Warriors by a score of 2-1. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Jacobs sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-23, 11-25, 25-19.
Ella Jenkins was a one-man wrecking crew for McHenry as she had 18 digs and three aces. The dominant performance gave Jenkins a new career-high in aces.
Jacobs' defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for McHenry, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-4.
Jacobs will head out on the road to take on Crystal Lake South at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McHenry, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Marian Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m.
