Basketball Recap: Ankeny Skates Past Indianola with Ease

Ankeny won the last time they faced Indianola and things went their way on Monday too. The Ankeny Hawks blew past the Indianola Indians 65-33. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Indians are ranked 108th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win got Ankeny back to even at 9-9. As for Indianola, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Ankeny will square off against Dowling Catholic at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Dowling Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Ankeny likes a good challenge. Indianola has already played their next game (against Oskaloosa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
