Basketball Recap: James Klimsak's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Atonement Academy over Non Varsity Opponent

Atonement Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 42-27 to Non Varsity Opponent. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Non Varsity Opponent apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Atonement Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was James Klimsak, who posted seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Renato Facundo, who had five points.

Atonement Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Atonement Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Town East Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-53 loss against Cumby on the 12th.
