Football Recap: Jayton Jaybirds vs. Westbrook Wildcats
Jayton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Westbrook Wildcats 66-16 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 60-16.
Defeat or not, Westbrook got some senior leadership from Grayson Jeffrey and Case Custer. Jeffrey rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown, while Custer. gained 146 total yards and a touchdown. Custer's longest reception was for an incredible 70 yards.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jayton will host Klondike at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westbrook, they will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Jonesboro at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
