Baseball Recap: Technology Gets the Win

Technology posted their closest victory since April 23, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Tomales Braves 6-5. The Titans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Braves, too.

Damian Padilla was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 17 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Those 17 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sean McGunagle, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Tristan Turnbull was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Technology's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Tomales, they dropped their record down to 2-3 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Technology will face off against Point Arena at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tomales, they will challenge Credo at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Tomales' pitchers better be ready for this one: Credo has averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
