Basketball Recap: Eastern Greene's Win Ends 11-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Eastern Greene won the last time they faced Vincennes Rivet and things went their way on Saturday too. The Eastern Greene Thunderbirds came out on top against the Vincennes Rivet Patriots by a score of 43-36. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Thunderbirds.

Eastern Greene got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Coby Sykes out in front who posted 17 points. Sykes' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jack Rees was another key player, putting up eight points and nine rebounds.

Eastern Greene's victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. As for Vincennes Rivet, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern Greene and Monrovia will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Vincennes Rivet, they will venture away from home to take on Cannelton at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
